Everyone knew it, but now it is official. PSA Peugeot Citroën will not work with BMW in the field of electric and hybrid vehicles. PSA and BMW will not produce or develop in common any car of this kind. The announcement was made today by Guillaume Faury, head of PSA research and development.
After the announcement of the collaboration between PSA and General Motors, PSA declared in June that was intended to continue to work with BMW. But the participation of GM, at height of 7%, in the capital of PSA made the BMW withdrawal, announcing in July that went his own way. On 29 June, BMW has been associated with Toyota in this sector.
Last October, PSA and BMW already had launched the departments of purchase and production of components and electric motors for the two groups, these operations are now in the hands of BMW.
